If you wish to take part in the OPTIMA Clinical Trial, you can fill in the pre-screener questionnaire below to see if you may be eligible to participate.

Who can take part in the OPTIMA Clinical Trial?

You may be eligible to take part if you are:

18 years old or older

Diagnosed with FOP

Experiencing signs and symptoms associated with FOP flare-ups (such as pain, swelling, or stiffness) in the last year

There are other requirements to participate.
If you have questions about taking part in this trial, you can also share this website with your doctor to discuss this trial.

Pre-screener questionnaire

You can see if you meet some of the criteria to take part by completing the pre-screening questionnaire below. Just answer either “yes” or “no” to each question, then click the submit button. This questionnaire is completely anonymous – no personal data is saved.
This questionnaire does not contain all of the criteria you need to meet to participate. If you are eligible to participate in this trial, you will also receive a copy of the Informed Consent Form when you visit the trial site for the first time, which will provide more information.

Have you experienced FOP disease activity within the last year?

FOP disease activity is defined as pain, swelling, stiffness, or other signs and symptoms associated with FOP flare-ups; or worsening of joint function, or radiographic progression of heterotopic ossification (HO) lesions (increase in size or number of HO lesions) with/without being associated with flare-up episodes

Are you 18 years old or older?

Are you willing to travel approximately 18 times during your 2 year trial participation to the clinical trial site?

Are you willing to receive up to three full body CT scans during your trial participation?
